Today's Musical Notation: In The Country
eMusic turned me onto a scandanavian jazz group, In The Country. Part Bill Evans, part Thelonious Monk, part Philip Glass, this trio rewards both the casual and serious listener. In other words: perfect for creating to, and to relaxing to. Some people might find In The Country's pieces too nontraditional, but their layered atmospheric musicianship is a winner for me.
